Washington International Horse Show
After years of talking about it, Drew and I finally made it to the Washington International Horse Show this weekend. It was quite a sight—a couple of streets around the Verizon Center were shut down and filled with temporary stalls. We went Friday night and saw the Charity Cup Classic, musical freestyle portion of the dressage invitational, Jack Russell terrier races, and mini-concert by none other than Jewel herself. The highlight, though, had to be the puissance, or high jump competition, with top competitors and former Olympians like McLain Ward and Margie Engle. McLain Ward won for (I believe) the third year in a row with a height of 6’8.25”.

You can see the rest of Drew’s pictures here.
