Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t find your question below, please don’t hesitate to contact us at drew@drewlovessarah.com or sarah@drewlovessarah.com.

1. When is the wedding exactly?
It’s August 19th, 2006 at 5 pm (Central Time). A reception on the grounds will immediately follow the ceremony at the same location.

2. Where is the wedding?
The wedding and reception will be held at the Schlitz Audubon Center. Its address is 1111 East Brown Deer Road, Milwaukee, WI 53217 (link to a map here). More information about the Nature Center (including its ecologically-advanced “green” buildings and grounds) can be found online at www.schlitzauduboncenter.com. The wedding will be held in the Center’s outside covered pavilion overlooking Lake Michigan, weather permitting, of course! The reception will be held in the Center’s main hall with dinner and jazz music. There is plenty of parking available close to both the pavilion and the main hall.

3. Is there a preferred hotel for out of town guests?
Yes. We’ve reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western Quiet House in Mequon, WI. Call them at 262-241-3677 and request the Fait-Saunders wedding rate. You can also check this page for more information on accommodations.

4. If we are coming from far away, what airport should we fly in to?
Fly in to General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee. Its airport code is MKE. Sarah and I like to fly Midwest Airlines which is based in Milwaukee. For those of you in the DC metro area, Midwest flies out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) several times a day.

5. What will the weather be like in Milwaukee in August?
Good question! We wish we knew exactly, but on average Milwaukee has highs in mid-August of around 79 degrees with lows in the lower 60s. Local meteorologists always say “and cooler by the lake” (where we’ll be) in all their forecasts. We’re hoping for a pleasant afternoon for an outside covered wedding, but have backup plans in place if we aren’t so lucky!

6. Who will be in the wedding party?
Sarah’s four sisters, Jennifer, Ashley, Aubrey, and Jocelyn will be her bridesmaids. Drew’s four close friends Andy, Trent, Aaron, and Dan will be his groomsmen. Follow this link to our page about our wedding party for all the details.

7. How did you two meet?
Drew’s old friends Andy Gyurisin and his future wife Jen Bolton hosted an all-day movie-watching party at their apartment in Roanoke, Virginia early in October of 2001. Drew was visiting while on fall break from his graduate studies at American University in Washington, DC. Sarah, then at Hollins University in Roanoke, came to the party with her friend Jacqueline, who knew both Andy and Jen. Drew will always remember when he first saw Sarah across the crowded apartment—she was easy to spot because she was the only one there who was studying! Sarah had an upcoming exam and during a break in the action of party was looking through her textbook she’d brought along. Drew, mightily impressed by Sarah’s obvious studiousness, introduced himself. What Sarah saw in Drew, nobody knows! But the rest, as they say, is history.

8. Where did you get engaged?
On top of Old Rag Mountain in central Virginia on a beautiful fall day in 2005. When Drew popped the question they were both sitting on a boulder on top of the mountain, eating candy bars and resting their feet. Sarah’s first reaction: “Are you serious?” Drew then got out the ring he’d hidden in his pack and asked again. This time Sarah said yes!

9. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We’re planning to spend our honeymoon at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, enjoying the lake, the outdoor activities, and the food.

10. Where are you registered?
Four places: Crate & Barrel, Williams-Sonoma, Kohl’s Department Store, and George Watts & Son of Milwaukee.

11. What’s with all the bird stuff on our cards and this site?
Not much, really. We just liked the images and wanted to acknowledge that the wedding and reception will be held at an Audubon Center. For more information on the Center’s conservation and education programs, visit www.schlitzauduboncenter.com.
